For many years experienced custom boot makers have been coming to Carl Chappell for training in advanced techniques of custom boot making. As his reputation as the Master Boot Maker grew, so did the demand for him to train others wanting to learn the art of boot making. In order to meet the demand, Carl developed a series of seminars for both novices and experienced boot makers.

As his seminars grew, he found that many novices did not know where to get the special equipment, tools, and other supplies that they needed to get started. He founded a reconditioning business to acquire and refurbish the machines that these new boot makers needed. Also, he saw that many boot makers, including experienced ones, needed a source to buy the exact quantity of leather or exotic hides for a single pair of boots without having to buy an entire hide. His solution was to use his purchasing volume to buy a wide variety of these materials and sell them as "kits" to other boot makers.

As all of these areas of his business grew, it became necessary to create this site to provide information to prospective students and boot makers.
